she/her
Monte Weir is a queer author, artist and support worker living on unceded Wurundjeri land in Naarm/Melbourne. She is the Chair of creative writing collective Meridian Australis, through which she has helmed the publication of two anthologies of speculative fiction from Melbourne’s best new authors. Published in Farrago, Gnome Zine, AUSTRAL 2024, and The Disconnected anthology, she is currently working on her debut novel, in which she is exploring the complexities of parenting, queerness, and gender envy through the lens of nature’s greatest mimic—the superb lyrebird. She is also the Children’s Book specialist at Readings Doncaster.
