Support Trans Book Festival

Trans Book Festival is officially coming back in 2027!

Your favourite independent literary festival is locked in to bring you:

  • Exceptional trans and gender diverse writers

  • Thought-provoking learning opportunities

  • A safe and welcoming community

  • Radical self-expression

But putting together a trans-first festival is a difficult feat at the best of times, and right now we’re facing an increasingly anti-trans and anti-arts culture. So here’s where you can make a difference.

To make sure we can achieve the high quality you’ve come to expect, we’ll be fundraising throughout the next year, starting with AusArt Day 2026.

AusArt Day is a Creative Australia initiative to support and fund Australian arts projects. AusArt Day is 22 October 2026, but the fundraising starts now!

Creative Australia will match the first $2,500 donated to Trans Book Festival dollar-for-dollar, which means your generous donation will be DOUBLED to directly support platforming and amplifying trans and gender diverse voices from across Australia.

What’s our goal?

$20,000

How does your donation help?

  • $20 buys N95 masks for audience members to keep our community safe

  • $75 contributes towards venue hire fees

  • $120 transports a trans writer living regionally to the festival

  • $250 pays a trans writer ASA rates to read at a storytelling showcase

  • $500 Auslan interprets one panel session

You can help secure a future for Trans Book Festival in the Australian literary sector by donating today! All donations over $2 are tax deductible thanks to the Australian Cultural Fund.

Not in a position to donate? Share our campaign on social media or with your friends and family instead! Don’t forget to use the hashtags: #TBF2027 #TransBookFestival #AusArtDay2026 #MatchedGift #DoubleYourDonation
