Bring your laptops and tablets for a quick dive into narrative design, an introduction to the interactive writing tool “Twine”, and develop your own playable interactive story with Alexander Swords, one of the foremost Interactive Narrative practitioners in Australia.

Narrative design is a way of understanding how a story functions. When creating stories with infinite possibilities, it helps to know how to craft choices that your audience will find interesting, compelling, and worthwhile taking the time to make. In A Creative Introduction to Interactive Literature, participants will look at ways of breaking a story into its component parts, and then some basic rules on good storytelling with choices. Then, we'll jump into the tool "Twine" to create interactive literature in a similar form to the "choose your own" novels that some of us had growing up. Create your own playable short story!

Requirements: All participants will need to bring their own laptops or tablets.
